Greetings!​

​

I am a Classical Guitarist based in Markham, Ontario who provides guitar lessons in the familiarity and convenience of your home, either in-person or online.  I also play and teach steel-string and electric guitar. In addition to my Level 8 Guitar Certification from the Royal Conservatory of Music I also hold a Bachelor's of Education from the University of Toronto and taught in the public elementary school system.  I have provided guitar lessons in various settings, from private homes to independent music schools, to students of all ages.

As guitarists we each bring our own personalities and ambitions to the instrument and I adapt my instruction to meet the unique interests and goals of my students.  They have ranged from absolute beginners, to those preparing for RCM exams, to adults wishing to start a new hobby,  to those wishing to hone in on a particular technique or theoretical concept.  Regardless, I have always found the process of teaching to be as rewarding as it is exciting.

 

As an educator I place an emphasis on developing proper musical literacy while also building your musical independence.  I am very growth-oriented and am always looking to where I can take my students next in terms of their guitar progress. ​I believe that music studies occur best in environments that are safe, private and comfortable.  I also believe that students and parents want meaningful, lasting connections with their music teacher - one in which communication is easy and feedback direct.   With patience, determination, hard work and proper guidance the guitar can be a friend for life.  I would love to have the opportunity to be a part of your guitar journey!
